Our Community

2019

​We have a number of ‘communities’ and one of our goals is to bring them closer together.

Customers:

Our customers are great, in the main! They are tolerant, appreciative, understanding and reflective, as all gardeners are. They create things of beauty for no other purpose than creating beauty itself and they take great pleasure in what they achieve. What other group in our society would plant trees that would not mature till long after they have gone, for the benefit of future generations!?   
They are also connected- though business, organisations, family, communities and schools and it is through these connections that we see huge opportunities.

Suppliers:

Our suppliers are artisan communities around the world producing beautiful products including, from 2017, craftspeople closer to home in France, Spain, Greece and, of course, the UK.
They are also our fellow ‘traders’ many of whom produce extraordinary products in collaboration with communities around the world in much the same way as we do. They are ‘truly’ fair traders and we will be adding many of them to our website over the coming weeks and months under our True Fair label. ​

Education:

We work with most universities and colleges in the UK and many across Europe particularly in Holland, France and Ireland.  We collaborate on developing volunteer programmes around the world and work with EU funding to facilitate access to disadvantaged youth. We are also  able to access skills in such as design, tourism, conservation, product development and animal management.

Conservation:

We actively collaborate with conservation groups in developing countries providing funding, expertise and volunteers. ​

Enterprise:

We enjoy a growing community of individuals and organisations willing to invest in budding enterprises around the world in support of our mission. Check out our Angels and Guardians programme

Volunteers:

As a volunteer driven organisation we have had tens of thousands come through our programmes over the years. Our alumni is very strong.
