About Us
The story started many years ago with Ed teaching economics and organising field trips around the world. Travelling around the Far East and Africa had a real impact on him, from the communities he met to the individuals that he became friends with. From these connections True Fair Trading was established some 45 years later.
Ed wants to help local people/local communities, not by charity but by enabling people to stand on their own feet. He saw the opportunity of buying local artisan potters work and trading them in the UK. Local to Global, which puts money into poorer communities from around the world and brings amazing pots to the UK.
In 2011 Ed and Gemma (his daughter) travelled to Vietnam and Sri Lanka to meet up with old friends and be inspired by quality pottery. The first pots were selected to be imported to the UK.

8 years ago he started by selling locally and soon expanded to exhibiting around the country at garden shows. Gemma would help on evenings and at the weekend, and then take holiday from her job to attend the flower shows.
After many letters to the RHS we finally managed to get into Hampton Court 2014. It was a great experience and got the pots show cased to a much wider audience. From then, True Fair Trading has been exhibiting at all of the RHS shows todate, the range of pots has expanded to European origin and garden furniture and now Gemma works in the week too.
